Die-ing to Emboss

Hi, today is my turn to share a technique using the amazing new dies from Penny Black over on their blog, if you would like to leave a comment please hop on over here.

Dies are great for cutting but are also brilliant to emboss with, this card was created using the new Penny Black Iris 51-005 die to create an embossing folder.....details on how to make the embossing folder can be found below in the video tutorial.

Embossed Iris

The embossed flower was coloured with Pan Pastels and stamped with the sentiment from the transparent set Summer Fun 30-107 using Versafine Imperial Purple ink. It was then mounted onto Fuchsia Fantasies 13-001 and 13-003 Mix and Match card, with patterned paper is from Michaels Recollections paper pad, the twine is by Hemptique Variegated No.2 and the button from Dovecraft, to finish off a strip of stitching was added using an SRM sticker.

Please note that the plastic used for the folder is very thin, you may need to help release the die cut piece with a craft knife or scissors if using thicker plastic, such as quilters template plastic.

I also created this card using the Bashful 51-008 die, Madison 80-001 patterned paper, Summer Fun 30-107 transparent set and Summer Sun Mix and Match Card 17-001.

Embossed Daisy

I also have another video tip exclusively available on the Penny Black Blog here.
