Hello Tinkerbell

Hi as promised I am back today with details of a video tutorial showing you how to use the new Pico Embellisher from Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko, but to see it you are going to have to hop on over to the Imagine Crafts blog here. If you can't wait I will post a teeny tiny sneak peak photo at the end of this post!

But first let me share a little coaster that I made for my favourite hot chocolate mug!

Tinkerbell Coaster

To create this project you will need a cardboard coaster, Gesso, Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko Pico Embellishers in Pear Tart, Tuxedo Black, Shimmer, (if available Dandelion for the hair - I used my IrRESISTible spray with a paint brush to do the hair as I didn't have it in a Pico) Memento New Sprout ink and Glaz-on Matte. Skin coloured pen, Green felt fabric and Ice Resin.

Step 1: Paint coaster with Gesso and leave to dry, sketch Tinkerbell with a pencil (if you can't draw you can use a stamp with grey ink. Outline the pencil marks with the Black Pico Embellisher and leave to dry.

Step 2: Fill in the dress (pear tart pico), wings (shimmer pico) and hair (dandelion). Leave to dry, go over parts of the dress again to add deeper shades. Colour skin and then sponge outer area with Memento New Sprout ink to get a mottled effect.

Step 3: Seal the image with Glaz on and leave to dry, once dry add felt to bottom of coaster and then coat with 2 layers of Ice Resin (allowing to fully cure between each coat).

I love my new coaster it matches my mug perfectly...now can you guess what this is?

Just a peek

Can't guess?  Well hop on over to the Imagine Crafts blog to find out, there is also a Video too.

I will be later in the week with more inspiration to share.

A Card for my Niece

Last week I shared a card I created for my Nephew, today is the turn of my Niece who's birthday is only 3 days later.

Fairy cute

For this project I used a Marianne Designable cut and emboss folder, Light Blue Glitter, Light Blue Pink and White card, Pink Twine and Pink Gem. Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko Versafine Black Ink,  Clear Embossing Powder and Shimmer Pico Embellisher. Chameleon Alcohol Art Pens, Flesh, Pink, Grey, Sand, Red and Orange Yellow. Penny Black Fairy Sweet 30-151 and Lulu's Party 30-167 transparent stamp sets

I wanted to make the inside a bit special too, so I stamped and coloured the little balloon and dog from Lulu's Party 30-167 using Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko Memento Marker pens. The sentiment is Penny Black's Birthday Wish 3669F.

Anchors Away

Happy Easter weekend, I have been playing with my dies for this card, my Nephew is a Marine Cadet and thought I would go with a nautical theme for his 16th Birthday (wow I can't believe he is 16 this year - makes me feel old!)

Anchor's away

Materials used: Spellbinders D Lite Anchors Away IN-014 and Scratch Lines GLT-001 Texture Plate, Penny Black Tripple Banner Die 51-027, Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko Delicata Silvery Shimmer and Versafine Majestic Blue inks, White, Light Blue and Dark Blue card.

Isn't that silver ink fabulous on the Navy blue card?

I then wanted to follow the theme through on the wrapping and so cut the anchor twice out of foam to create my own stamp and then stamped some craft card using Memento Rich Cocoa Die ink.

Anchor Wrap

Now to make my Niece a card her birthday is only 3 days later!!!

Thanks for joining me today, hugs Cathy

All thanks to the new Chameleon Alcohol pens that via an ingenious mixing chamber can go through light to dark tones with just one pen...they will be available in the near future so look out for them they are great.
